HortiMaX appoints Joep van den Bosch as Managing Director
As of 1 june 2012, Joep van den Bosch will commence his duties as the new Managing Director of the HortiMaX Group. Van den Bosch (47 years of age) can draw on many years of experience in the international horticultural sector and has previously held management positions at Priva and Ball. His clear vision and international contacts will contribute greatly to the further growth and internationalisation of HortiMaX.
Ridder Drive Systems takes over HortiMaX
Harderwijk, the Netherlands, 25 October 2011 – Ridder Drive Systems in the Netherlands has completed its takeover of HortiMaX. Representatives from both companies concluded the transaction on 19 October 2011. Albert ’t Hart, Managing Director of Ridder Drive Systems, is pleased with the agreement and emphasises that the takeover arose from a need for co-operation and a pooling of knowledge.
HortiMaX helps Mexican growers
HortiMaX does things a bit differently to other companies. Where our competitors open branches and post sales staff, we offer expert support and advice to our customers. The Mexican horticultural industry has been growing rapidly and is increasingly opting for more advanced solutions that provide higher yields. Using these solutions correctly is crucial to achieving such yields. Since early March, Bram Vanthoor has been HortiMaX’s representative in Mexico.

Ektron III to replace Ektron II
After ten years, production of the Ektron II is almost at an end. Its successor, the Ektron III, recently cleared one of its last hurdles: an official ÖKD test. The Austrian ÖKD calibration service is one of the most reputable organisations for testing measuring equipment in Europe. The Ektron passed the ÖKD test with flying colours, measuring temperature, CO2 and relative humidity levels with extreme precision. As a result, the Ektron III has been awarded the highest possible certificate.
Ridder and HortiMaX jointly present at ‘Tuinbouw Relatiedagen’ trade fair
Ridder and HortiMaX will both be present at the Tuinbouw Relatiedagen trade fair in the Dutch town of Gorinchem, to be held from 14 - 16 February. You’ll find Ridder at stand 318 and HortiMaX next to it, at stand 320. Both companies will be showcasing a number of innovative products. In addition to the Irrigation Checker and MiniMaX, HortiMaX will be presenting its latest labour and product registration solution: HortiMaX Productive.
Press Release: New owner of HortiMaX plans to reorganise and invest
The Ridder Group announced today that it intends to reorganise the HortiMaX Group, which it acquired in October of this year. This will result in fifteen job cuts and the closure or sale of two of its offices abroad. According to Ridder’s Board of Management, these measures are necessary to pull the HortiMaX Group through the current slump in the market. Ridder also plans to invest in internationalisation, innovation and systems integration.
Hip Hop Guatemala at HortiMaX
As part of its corporate social responsibility, HortiMaX supports local initiatives, such as 'Hip Hop Guatemala'. This is a collaborative project with ‘Edventure’, aimed at giving underpriviliged youths in Central America a better future. Partly thanks to HortiMaX, a few of the youths recently visited the Netherlands for a series of live performances.
